I just found out that Sony is no longer selling handhelds in the U.S. I had no idea!!!! I had no reason to be keeping up on that kind of news because I've been very happy with my Clie, and have had no reason to be shopping for another. I guess when the time comes to look for a replacement, it won't be a Sony... (8/3/05)
DateBk5, an awesome calendar (and more) program, that has totally revolutionized how I use my Datebook. Cost: $24.95. And you can download it and use it for a full 45 days to see if you like it before you buy, which is a great feature.
Documents To Go, a program that allows me to read and edit Microsoft Word documents on my Palm. The Standard Edition came with my 615, and at this point I'm not paying for the full version, as the standard version allows me to do everything I want to do. I also have Presenter to Go Standard Edition, although I haven't used that yet. That one will allow me to view and edit PowerPoint presentations on the Clie.
Adobe Acrobat Reader for Palm OS, a free program, allows one to download the MEMS protocols so they can be viewed on the PDA
Converter 2.1 free, for converting any unit of measurement, temperature, length, volume, even shoe sizes! There is a version 2.2 available now, but I haven't bothered to upgrade.
AportisDoc Reader (a free program which I use to read documents I've downloaded to my computer in .pdf format and then converted to DOC files so I can carry them on my Palm. The converter program is free for personal, non-business use, and is called AportisDoc PDF converter. (I can even have the MEMS treatment protocols on my Palm this way, although they are no longer searchable, so not very useful anymore!)
C SpotRun free DOC reader
ePocrates, the free, updateable drug information program. Other people use the Tarascon ePharmacopoeia, but I like the interface of the ePocrates better. Besides, ePocrates is free!
HanDBase, a database program that allows me to create databases for just about anything. Can be used either on my desktop or on the Palm. A great way to keep track of continuing education hours and categories!
One program I'm considering is IVRate, a shareware program for calculating drug dosages.
